Review New Super Mario Bros

Nintendo Wii – There’s lots new this year like Your shape with Wii Fit – this fitness program’s camera scans your body to give you a personalized fitness workout and a virtual coach to keep you motivated and correct your moves … sweet!

Tales of Monkey Island Chapter 4,- a quick note here – no jumping ahead if you haven’t played the previous chapters much of this game will slide right by you. My Zoo not only focuses on raising animals it teaches business principals, many players find the financial rewards addictive and they get to see immediate feedback from people visiting their Zoo. In Copter Crisis, you pilot the helicopter on rescue missions all the while having to dodge mid-air crashes or shoot at the bad guys. Lots of action to keep you involved and dextrous using the Wii Remote.

Christmas Clix a Christmas puzzle, Wii Sports Resort, Guitar Hero 5, Band Hero, Rock Bank – the Beatles, Call of Duty – Modern Warfare, Resident Evil, The Crystal Bearers and Avatar the game are all on the roster for Christmas. But I want to review the New Super Mario Brothers for you.

New Super Mario Brothers is not for the mildly interested – no sir – you better bring your best ‘butt stompin’  game for this bad boy! The game makes no excuses and takes no prisoners – be prepared for an exciting challenge with no holds barred.  Even you seasoned platform gaming veterans will find it hard to keep up.

The level of challenge raises to new heights with the addition of four players taking on Bowser’ minions all at the same time. It still feels and plays like Super Mario Brothers with its side-scrolling romps, but there is enough to keep you engaged in New Super Mario Brothers.

Playing solo or multiplayer you’ll find it fun and frustrating but either way an incredible experience that will have you coming back for more, again and again.

If you’ve ever played games with multi-players you know the challenge is finding the same skill level in all the players. When they are evenly matched the skill set required stretches each of the players and when they’re not … well let’s just say it is chaotic. If you’re just out for fun – chaotic can be good, but for the serious minded, the chaos will seriously challenge you.

The New Super Marios Brothers is still recognizable – the programmers kept the plumber and the successful formula you all know and love. Challenges face you all along your journey from A to B through hostile enemies and environmental obstacles, making your survival dependent on the prowess of a ninja along with intricate dexterity, faultless planning and chromatic timing.  In the eight varied worlds, Mario gets two new power-ups. Moving through water, ice and snow is no problem with the penguin suit … and up its sleeve the neat little trick that allows him to hurl snowballs that can freeze opponents.

The second is the helicopter suit allowing Mario to hover in the air for short bursts.  All the old favorites are there – starmans, fire flowers and ice flowers – also with the ability to hurl freezing snowballs, and of course Yoshi.

New Super Mario Brothers lives up to the standard set with the previous games but focuses on tweaks not completely new programming. Its Super Guide will help the new player get in the game quickly and still provide a tight game with tons of secrets and multiplayer functions which all add up to a great time. Super Marios fans won’t be disappointed and nonfans getting into the game should find hours of enjoyment in the game.
